Memoto Lifelogging Camera

I’ve had many moments in my life where I’ve wished I had a picture (or series of pictures) of an event I experienced, and I’ve gone to great lengths making sure I have some form of camera on me at all times. From small digital cameras in the mid-2000’s, to full blown DSLR’s, to smartphones. Yet still, all too often, the shear “spontaneity” of life has left me without images I really wanted, and wished I had.

A second too late, a complete surprise, a low battery… you name a reason/cause (there are a plethora of them) we’ve all experienced missing out on moments we wish we could have captured.

Designed as a lifelogging tool Memoto looks to overcome those “missing moments” with a camera and an app that work together to give you pictures of every single moment of your life, that include information on when and where you took it.

The Memoto camera is a tiny camera and GPS unit that you clip on and wear. The camera constantly takes two geo-tagged pictures every minute (2000+ photos a day,) getting you ever closer to recording your every moment.

While 2000+ photos a day may seem like an overwhelming number of images to have to manage and store, Memoto comes with a companion app that organizes the photos into a timeline that can serve as a “photographic” memory stream. The app will organize your photos into groups of “moments” on a timeline, where you’re presented with “keyframes” (about 30 per day per the Memoto team) each representing one moment of your day.

As a lifelogging fan all I can say is “Thank you” Memoto team for creating this amazing piece of wearable tech. I’ve pre-ordered one and am so eager to get my hands on it. As soon as it’s in my hands and I have a chance to play with it I’ll post a full follow up review.
